Overview of the Types of Swim Meets

Dual Swim Meets

A dual swim meet is a competition between two teams—just us and one other Naperville Swim Conference team. These meets are fun, energetic, and a great opportunity for swimmers to showcase their skills, track their personal progress, cheer on teammates, and showcase Seahawks pride!

Key Features of Dual Meets:

  • Every swimmer participates in at least two individual events and often a relay.
  • Events are divided by age group and gender, so swimmers compete against others their age.
  • Races include all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), individual medleys, and relays.
  • Each team earns points for race finishes, and the team with the most points at the end wins—but the focus is always on personal growth and team spirit.

Meet Flow:

  • Declaration: Parents must declare if their swimmer will attend via the team website/app before the deadline.
  • Arrival: Swimmers arrive early to check in, warm up, and get ready.
  • Competition: The meet kicks off with relays, followed by individual events. Swimmers are called to the bullpen before each race.
  • Team Spirit: Swimmers cheer for teammates, support each other, and enjoy snacks and downtime between events.
  • Wrap-up: Results are posted online, and ribbons are handed out at a later practice.

Time Trials at Home (Saturday, June 7, 2025)

Time Trials will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025 8:30am- 12:00pm. Swimmers need to arrive by 7:30am. Positive check closes at 7:45am. Warm ups begin at 7:45am. Meet begins at 8:30am.

This meet is an exhibition and is only our team. The purpose of this meet is to set seed times for swimmers ages 7-14 (no 6 year olds for Time Trials; 15-18s we will need your help working this meet.). This meet does not count towards City eligibility times or pool records. It does count as a baseline for our incentive program.

Swimmers will be entered into four events based on their age's appropriate events. Those four events will be Freestyle, Butterfly, Backstroke, and Breaststroke. Swimmers will be expected to swim ALL events entered in. No "IM" or Individual Medley events.

This is also an excellent opportunity for swimmers and parents to see how a meet is run and to prepare for an official meet. New parents are expected to work a job at this meet.
