Seahawks Big Fish, Little Fish Program
Building Bonds, Boosting Spirit

The Big Fish, Little Fish Program is a special HEST tradition that brings swimmers together across age groups t o build friendships, foster team spirit, and create a fun, supportive environment for everyone.
This program is all about mentorship, encouragement, and community—not about gifts or extravagance. Whether you’re a Big Fish or a Little Fish, your presence and positive attitude are what matter most. It’s about showing up, cheering loud, and being the kind of teammate that lifts others up!
Please do not go out an buy gifts. That's not the point of this program. This should be about kids supporting one another and not parents buying items (this program isn't meant to add to parent to-do lists!).
What It Means to Be a Big or Little Fish
- Big Fish are older swimmers who serve as role models, cheerleaders, and friendly mentors.
- Little Fish are younger teammates who benefit from the encouragement and example of their Big Fish.
Together, they form a bond that brings energy to the team and support to the pool deck!
How to Get Involved
- Complete Fish Form: Tell all about your Big Fish or Little Fish. Simply download this form and share with the Big Fish or Little Fish with whom you are partnered.
- Create: Write a note, draw a picture for your Big or Little Fish! Use your creativity to encourage and inspire your teammate before just one (1) home meet. You do not need to do something for all home meets.
- Cheer: Watch each other’s races at meets—especially HOME meets! Be the loudest, proudest supporter on the pool deck.
- Congratulate: After a race, find your Big or Little Fish and celebrate their effort. A high five or a “great swim!” goes a long way.
- At the Pool: If you’re both at the pool, say hello! Go for a swim together, practice a few strokes, share a snack, or just hang out. These little moments build big team spirit.
